Identify the offered body and equipment
Keep VIN, original market, generation and legal body description through the specification guide. A Sportback name does not establish every generation’s cargo floor, installed objects or equipment. Compare it with an identified Sedan or A3L through the body guide, rather than an undefined saloon baseline. Retain alterations and missing items that affect the usable arrangement. A photograph of a hatch opening cannot demonstrate the offered car’s full loading shape. The buying decision needs original identity and actual fitted state before a body-level advantage becomes a reason to pay or accept the proposal.
Bring the objects that determine ordinary use
Use rigid luggage, a stroller, work objects or other recurring loads through the family-cargo review. Check the actual opening, useful shape and supported loading sequence. A headline volume is a different measurement from fitting a particular rigid object. Retain the owner’s fixed requirement rather than quietly substituting a smaller bag to favour the preferred body. Keep realistic visibility and access in the trial. Do not infer that the largest marketed number must provide the most coherent arrangement. The useful result is what fits in the offered car under accepted ordinary conditions, not a model-family image with unusually convenient loading.
Keep the required seats and safe retention
Retain all necessary occupied positions through the child-seat guide where relevant. Do not count a folded position as available cargo space if someone must sit there. Follow applicable instructions and suitable retention rather than accepting loose or unsafe arrangements merely to close the hatch. If the load requires an occasional alternate transport plan, state whether that is reliable and acceptable. The car can suit an ordinary household without carrying every possible object, but its purchasing benefit should not depend on an arrangement that contradicts the owner’s repeated passenger requirement or conceals a practical loading limitation.
Check the current hatch and cabin condition
Use appropriate examination through the inspection checklist for relevant body, opening, trim, restraint and electronics findings. Retain applicable operation and observation limits. A hatch that closes during one demonstration does not independently establish every seal, lock or related function is healthy. Disclosed intervention needs attributable scope, and consequential concerns may require diagnosis. Ask about actual support through body-specific parts matching. A preferred opening shape does not certify the fitted powertrain or other material condition. Prepared value needs the whole accepted starting state, with cargo convenience assessed separately from unsupported reassurance about the car.
Compare the practical prepared benefit
Align actual equipment, current findings, included work and delivery scope through the price guide. Count understood correction and missing cargo-related objects once. A seller’s package claim is not confirmation of the useful arrangement. Compare a currently examined alternative meeting the same required task, not an unexamined Sedan assumed clean because it has a simpler loading shape. Keep personal body preference separate from a financial promise. The ownership worksheet can retain period assumptions without guaranteeing resale recovery. An accepted hatch benefit should remain meaningful after optimistic future value and brochure-only volume comparisons are removed.
Compare the stroller and occupied-seat sequence
Consider a household carrying a stroller with every required seat in use. Try the actual folded stroller through each offered opening and retain supported placement, safe retention and ordinary access. If Sportback loading works more naturally, record that useful result. If the alternative also satisfies the task and offers stronger supported starting value, the hatch preference should be described separately. This is not a universal recommendation for one body. It prevents a test that silently folds a needed seat or uses another object from becoming evidence for a household arrangement that was never actually demonstrated.
Record fit and its decision-changing conditions
Keep original body identity, actual tested objects, occupied positions, useful loading sequence and accepted limits in the purchase schedule. A different VIN, generation, restraint or required load can reopen the trial. Retain appropriate post-work confirmation if intervention affects the arrangement. The decision can support Sportback, another examined body or further investigation. It should remain clear without treating every marketed litre as equally usable or promising that one hatch meets all future loads. The buyer is accepting a demonstrated routine and current candidate state, not an unlimited cargo guarantee from the model name.
